Believe me; it’s not always like that. But when you’re on top and trying your hands, usually your thoughts are “Uh, is he or she feeling good? Because I wouldn’t if someone was doing this to me.”
Am I right? Now the question is “How to give a good massage.” What procedure should we follow? Can I get a good massage at home?
Well, you can go through this guide and learn some fundamental massage techniques that the therapists use, and you can also share these with your partners to get some benefits too!
Before You Begin
Set-up or the environment is the key when it comes to give or get a massage. Many experts agree that on the ground in a warm room is preferable as compared to a bed because it gives additional support.
You can use a blanket or mat for a clean surface. For better results, ask your partner or client to remove the shirt, and you can cover them with a towel.
To begin, ask them to lay face down with a cushion under the skull, and ask them to turn the neck to one side. Remember, you should change the side of the head frequently to avoid any stiffness on the neck.
Use Oil, Creams, and Lotions
Massaging with lotions, creams or oils can refresh the body. We will advise you to use oils and lotions made from natural elements like almond or sesame oil because they can absorb into the skin more quickly and easily.
Now, apply the small amount of lotion or oil on your hands and never apply to the client directly. Gently rub it to distribute equally. Start the massage with a gentle and soft touch and then go more in-depth if your partner or client is comfortable.
Remember, applying too much pressure at once can hurt. If your partner is breathing slowly and smoothly, it means that they’re loving your touches and massage.
The Hand Slide
Start using your hands parallel and gently slide them to the sides of the back, massaging all the way to the buttocks and lower back. Then slide up all the way to the shoulders, neck, and arms to the fingers. Repeat this sliding process at least five times. While doing this, ask your mate for feedback.
Pull-Ups
This step requires you to be attentive and vigilant. You can begin by placing your hands on the hips of your partner and then softly pull up towards the back. Then slowly move the hands (don’t rush) to the waist and pull to the back.
Similarly, move your hands on the chest and pull again towards the back. Then place your hands under the armpits and gently pull towards the back. Do this step from both sides.
Kneading
Have you ever kneaded bread or pizza? If yes, then this step is a breeze for you. For those who haven’t, squeeze your mate’s buttocks and spine between your fingers in a flowing way only with a single hand and then repeat with the other one. Then slide your both hands to another part of the back and continue till your beloved is well kneaded from collar to hips.
Moving Down to the Feet
In this step perform the sliding technique on both the legs in a slow but smooth gesture. Apply this both legs but single leg at a time. Then hold one foot and smother it in lotion, spread it on the heels, around the ankle, and on the fingers and toes.
Now use your palm to slide on the bottom of the foot and continue doing this for about five to six times. Then rotate clockwise and finally gently slide your fingers between fingers and toe of your partner.
Avoid Joints and Bones
Remember, never apply pressure directly on the back and be careful not to apply too much force that runs over the shoulder blades or ribs.
If your partner has thin muscles, you will bruise the bones by applying too much pressure. Also be cautious when rubbing elbows, shoulders, necks, and knees.
Bottom Line
Giving or getting a massage is fun and should feel good, no fancy actions or methods are necessary. The primary goal of massage should be to please your beloved, whether it’s with a healing massage, relaxing massage, a foot or full body massage.
